Waste Not, Want Not: A Discussion on the Changing Rules affecting Septic Systems in the Lake George Region
The Property Owners of Silver Bay are sponsoring an educational seminar to present details and data about the ongoing concerns of septic systems in the Lake George Basin. Topics will cover history, engineering, surveys/previous studies, and basic recommendations being considered. This is a lake-wide challenge that effects all property owners.
Chris Navitsky our Lake George Water Keeper and member of the Lake George Park Commission will present current Information on the following topics:
1. State and Local laws and proposed changes
` 2. Impact on the lake.
3. Operation and maintenance of a functioning system and
how compliance affects replacement.
4. How to apply for grants and loans to replace an existing
system.
Information presented will be based on current proposed regulations.
Literature and links to websites will be available to all who attend.
All area property owners are encouraged to attend and bring family and friends. Masks and social distancing are suggested for those who have not been vaccinated. A 15-20 minute question and answer period will follow the presentation. Questions will be limited to the presentation topics.
