So, I've been in the real estate business for a while now and let me tell you, I've seen some pretty interesting things. π One story in particular that always makes me chuckle happened when I had a listing for a home built in the 30s. Now, this home had a unique feature in the yard - a Ronald McDonald statue! Yes, just like the one you see sitting on the bench at McDonald's. π
When a buyer's agent asked me about the statue, I thought it was a no-brainer to say we would take it away at closing. But then, the agent dropped a bomb on me - their client actually wanted the statue to be sold with the home. π€―I mean, who knew that a Ronald McDonald statue would be a selling point for a house? π
But here's the thing, that story is a perfect example of how there really is a buyer for every home. You might have a quirky feature in your home that you think is a turn-off for buyers, but you just never know who might fall in love with it. Maybe it's a secret room, an odd layout, or even a statue of a fast-food mascot. π
And that's what makes my job so interesting - every home has a story to tell and every buyer has their own unique preferences. So, if you're thinking about selling your home, don't be afraid to embrace its quirks and let its personality shine. You just might find the perfect buyer who appreciates it just as much as you do. π‘π€
