As the American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin, our mission is to promote our members and affiliates, with an emphasis on American Indian-owned businesses and more! AICCW-FACC is the American Indian Chamber of Commerce and First American Capital Corp., who exist to promote economic development in Wisconsin Indian Country through directed service delivery to American Indian entrepreneurs. First American Capital Corporation (FACC) is to perform business development activities that benefit Wisconsin’s Indian Country by increasing access to capital in the form of business loans, providing technical assistance services that strengthen the skills of our entrepreneurs, and by advocating for Indian owned business opportunities, both on and off the reservations.

Thinking about starting a business? One of the first steps is choosing the right business structure and getting your LLC set up properly.

Join us October 8 in Keshena as Kevin Chesnik, Executive Director of the American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin, leads a session on filing your LLC and what comes with it.

Kevin will walk through the LLC filing process and cover some of the important considerations that come with establishing your business, giving entrepreneurs practical information they can use as they take those first steps.

The AICCW Scholarship application deadline is November 1, and there’s still time to apply for financial support toward your education.

The scholarship is open to Native students enrolled in an accredited program. Whether you’re pursuing a degree, certificate, or another accredited course of study, we encourage you to take a look at the application requirements and apply.

And if you’ve received an AICCW scholarship in the past, you’re welcome to apply again!

Taxes are an important part of running a business, and understanding how Wisconsin taxation applies in Indian Country can make a big difference.

Join us October 8 in Keshena as Holly Wilmer Wilmer with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue shares her expertise during our Economic Development Training for Small Businesses.

Holly has been with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue for 13 years as a books and records auditor. For more than six years, she has also served as a Tribal Liaison, acting as a point of contact between Tribal leaders and members and the Department of Revenue. As a member of the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, Holly brings both professional experience and a personal understanding of the issues facing Native communities.

Her session will cover Wisconsin taxation related to Native Americans and those doing business with Native Americans, along with practical information to help small business owners better understand their tax responsibilities.

Understanding compliance requirements can be an important part of doing business, especially when working with Tribal Nations and government partners.

Join us October 6 in Oneida as Stephanie Metoxen, MBA, Indian Preference Coordinator for the Oneida Nation, shares her expertise during our Economic Development Training for Small Businesses.

Stephanie brings more than 12 years of experience in business management and currently supports compliance, workforce development, and operational efficiency initiatives for the Oneida Nation. She also serves on Wisconsin Department of Transportation Tribal Labor Advisory Committee and Intertribal Task Force, helping develop strategic goals and initiatives related to the Native American Hiring Provision.

With her experience working across Tribal government, workforce development, and industry partnerships, Stephanie will offer valuable insight into compliance and opportunities for businesses working with Tribal Nations and government agencies.

Looking to strengthen your understanding of Tribal business and build stronger relationships in Indian Country?

AICCW is proud to partner with University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Continuing Education on the Tribal Business Certificate, a four-session program designed to help professionals, entrepreneurs, Tribal members, government and nonprofit employees, and others better understand Tribal Nations and their economic and business environments.

Through the program, participants will explore Tribal sovereignty and governance, economic systems and workforce frameworks, relationship-building, collaboration, and practical approaches to working with Tribal communities.

The 2026 program features an impressive group of speakers and professionals with experience across Tribal government, law, economic development, business, and entrepreneurship — including AICCW Executive Director Kevin Chesnik.

The program is held virtually via Zoom on Thursdays from October 22 through December 3, with four sessions required to earn the certificate.

Registration is now open.

This session will cover two important topics for entrepreneurs:

How to File Your LLC
Kevin Chesnik, Executive Director of AICCW, will walk through the basics of forming an LLC and what business owners should know when getting started.

Business Taxes
Holly Wilmer with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue will provide an overview of Wisconsin taxation related to Native Americans and those who engage with Native Americans, along with practical information on:

• Registering a new business
• Withholding tax
• Sales and use tax
• Electronic filing through My Tax Account
• Tax compliance
