I was honored to join more than 8,000 REALTORS® from across the United States in Washington, D.C. for the National Association of REALTORS® Legislative Meetings.
This annual event brings real estate professionals together with one common purpose: advocating for homeowners, REALTORS®, and future homeowners. Our conversations focused on policies that can help increase housing inventory, improve affordability, and create more opportunities for people to achieve the dream of homeownership.
I was proud to represent our community and the clients we serve every day through Howard Hanna Real Estate. Alongside fellow REALTORS®, we met with Congressman Langworthy's staff, Congressman Kennedy's staff, and Senator Gillibrand to discuss key housing issues and the impact these decisions have on families, communities, and the real estate industry throughout New York and across the country.
Advocacy is an important part of what we do as REALTORS®. The work doesn't stop at the closing table. It also includes making sure the voices of property owners, buyers, sellers, and future homeowners are heard by those making policy decisions.
On a personal note, I was especially happy that Max was able to join me for my afternoon off. We enjoyed some sightseeing around our nation's capital, including visits to the U.S. Capitol and the Smithsonian, along with plenty of walking, exploring, and appreciating the incredible architecture, monuments, and history that make Washington, D.C. such a remarkable place.
