Here’s what I would tell you as your real estate agent selling your house… if I wasn’t afraid to hurt your feelings 😅😅
1️⃣ YOUR AGENT’S REPUTATION MATTERS 👉 There are MILLIONS of agents, but only a sliver are actually doing consistent business. And reputations form FAST. If your agent is known as being difficult, a pain to work with, doesn’t answer calls, or is tough to negotiate with… that can work AGAINST you. Agents tend to push people they trust will actually get the deal done.
2️⃣ THE PRICE ISN’T ABOUT YOU 👉 The majority of sellers fall into the trap of wanting to tell the person buying their home what it “means” to you. The market, and the buyers, don’t care. What will move people is helping them FEEL how they could live in the home. Emotions. Not feelings. Not wishes.
3️⃣ THE SMELL OF YOUR HOUSE MATTERS 👃 It matters if it smells like pets, ci******es, or mildew. And while you may be “used to” certain smells… buyers are not.
4️⃣ EYES VS. EARS VS. WORDS MATTER 👀 Agents can immediately tell if a home is overpriced, underwhelming, or going to be a tough sell. Listen to your agent’s FEEDBACK instead of just their words.
There are no magical tips to help sellers… but THESE are the hard truths that will help you sell faster, more with less frustration
