The video explains the various types of fire extinguishers along with what types of fires they can put out. It goes on to explain, with step-by-step directions, how to properly use a fire extinguisher using the PASS Method.

P: Pull the pin so that you’re able to discharge the extinguisher.
A: Aim the extinguisher nozzle at the base of the fire.
S: Squeeze the lever to discharge the extinguishing agent.
S: Sweep. Pointing the extinguisher at the base of the fire, move the extinguisher from left to right, or back and forth, in a sweeping motion until the fire it out.

To ensure your protection, we have recently installed fire extinguishers in all 1,200 of our apartment units, conveniently located underneath your kitchen sink. If you find that your unit is missing this safety equipment, please contact our office immediately at 203-288-8388. It is vital to remember that you must never use water on a grease fire. Stay tuned, as we will be providing additional instructions on proper extinguisher usage soon.
