Sunday Stabbing Suspect Arrested

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office announces the arrest of 41 year old Michael King of Ponchatoula, after he was identified as the suspect of a stabbing on CC Road Sunday morning.

The investigation revealed a verbal altercation ensued between King and the victim which eventually became physical. During the physical altercation, King armed himself with a knife and stabbed the victim in the arm before fleeing the scene.

Chief Jimmy Travis says King turned himself in to detectives on Thursday June 8, 2023, and was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on (1) count of Aggravated Second Degree Battery.

**All persons accused of a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty.

Suspect Wanted in Sunday Morning Stabbing

Ponchatoula, La - The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriffs Office is asking the public’s assistance in locating 41 year old Michael King of Ponchatoula in connection with a stabbing.

Chief Jimmy Travis reports detectives are investigating the stabbing which occurred on CC Road earlier today. Through the course of the investigation detectives learned King stabbed another male during an altercation and fled the scene prior to deputies arriving on scene.

King is currently wanted for Aggravated Second Degree Battery in connection with this incident.
