Tadpole update! You can see they are getting bigger! Many fell off and died in the last few days and I was getting worried. After chatting with some helpful people on Reddit we decided it wasn’t anything we did and just nature running its course.

Today some started swimming around a bit and learning how to use their tails to get around. It’s really fun to watch! The girls were enthralled. Tomorrow I hope to get video of some swimmers. Stay tuned!

Tadpoles migrated out of their egg casing overnight. They aren’t moving much but during this stage they are feeding on their “egg jelly”. Hoping for more activity tomorrow!

Tadpole update!

We took a walk to our favorite roadside vernal pool on the hunt for frog eggs and it did not disappoint! We found a long string of toad eggs (which, if I’m honest, I didn’t know right away!). We snagged some from this pool since it’s likely to dry up in the next few days without rain. We are preparing their tank to put the eggs in tomorrow. There are bound to be lots of learning curves and I can’t wait 🐸 stay tuned!
