⚓️ Parade of Sail Schedule Update ⚓️

To give everyone the best possible view of the magnificent tall ships, we have adjusted the timing of our Parade of Sail event.

The event will now take place from 9:30 AM–11:30 AM. Current projections show the ships passing Fort Monroe around 10:12 AM, so this updated schedule will allow guests to enjoy the most exciting portion of the parade from our incredible waterfront vantage point.

We look forward to gathering together for this unforgettable maritime spectacle. See you on the rooftop!

Did you know that dozens of tall ships from around the world will be sailing by Continental Park at Fort Monroe on Friday morning around 9am?

They will be on their way to Norfolk for a global gathering of tall ships and military ships to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the founding of the United States.

There’s something special about watching a community celebrate its young people.

On Friday, residents gathered to honor the students in our Chamberlin family who are graduating this year. It was a simple, but meaningful celebration filled with congratulations, encouragement, and plenty of cookies. 🍪

Our residents know better than most that every diploma represents years of hard work, determination, and growth. We were honored to recognize these graduates and celebrate this milestone alongside them.

Congratulations to all of our graduates—we’re cheering you on as you begin your next chapter! 🎓❤️

Today, we celebrated Flag Day at The Chamberlin with a special performance by Ken Keller and his Brass Quartet.

Through patriotic music and familiar favorites, residents came together to reflect on the history, service, and sacrifices represented by our nation’s flag. It was a meaningful afternoon filled with music, memories, and appreciation for the freedoms we enjoy.

Thank you to Ken Keller and the Brass Quartet for helping us honor this important day. 🇺🇸

✨ Craft day was a glowing success! ✨

Each month, our residents look forward to getting creative with one of our favorite team members, Melissa, our Business Office Manager. From planning the project to helping with every bead, light, and glue dot, Melissa makes these monthly craft sessions something truly special.

This month, residents transformed simple glass bottles into beautiful illuminated works of art, each one as unique as the person who created it. More than just a craft, these gatherings are a chance to connect, share stories, laugh together, and enjoy an afternoon of creativity.

A big thank you to Melissa for bringing so much joy, patience, and inspiration to our community. Judging by the smiles, these glowing creations will brighten more than a few apartments! 💙✨

Join us for tonight for Sober Storytelling, an evening of real stories, honest conversation, and meaningful connections.

Whether you're sober, sober-curious, in recovery, supporting someone you love, or simply interested in hearing different perspectives, all are welcome. Through personal storytelling, we'll explore the experiences that shape our relationships with alcohol and celebrate the power of living authentically.

The evening will conclude with a tasting experience featuring mocktails, alcohol-free beer, and non-alcoholic wine.

🐾 Did you know? The Chamberlin welcomes all kinds of family pets! 🐾

We know that pets are more than companions—they're family. That's why many of our residents share their homes with beloved dogs, cats, birds, and other furry (or feathered!) friends who bring comfort, joy, and unconditional love every day.

Whether it's a morning walk along Fort Monroe, a cozy afternoon nap, or making new friends around the community, pets help make The Chamberlin feel even more like home.

We're proud to be a pet-friendly community where residents can continue enjoying life with the companions who mean so much to them. ❤️

The Chamberlin was truly honored to partner with the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) for a wonderful luncheon and historical presentation this week. It was a privilege to welcome members and guests for an afternoon centered around community, connection, and the rich history of Fort Monroe.

Guests enjoyed an engaging presentation from Dr. John Quarstein, who shared fascinating stories and insight into the legendary Hygeia Hotel and its lasting impact on the history of the Chesapeake Bay and Fort Monroe area. His knowledge and passion for local history made for an unforgettable experience.

We were also honored to welcome Representative Bobby Scott, whose presence made the afternoon even more special. Events like these are a wonderful reminder of the importance of preserving local history while bringing together leaders, residents, veterans, and community members alike.

Thank you to MOAA for choosing to gather with us and to everyone who attended and helped make the afternoon so meaningful.

Crackin’ good time at yesterday’s Crab Pick! 🦀 Residents gathered together for an afternoon full of steamed crabs, laughter, old stories, and plenty of messy hands. There’s just something special about sharing good food and even better company by the bay. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made it such a fun afternoon!
