Introducing ---“Women’s Celebration Wednesday,” --- a platform designed to spotlight the phenomenal women making an impact in the Church Of God In Christ. Today, we celebrate the remarkable Mother Deborah E. Golden.
A native of Norfolk, Virginia, Mother Deborah E. Golden was reared in holiness as the seventh born child to the Late Bishop Samuel & Mother Vivian Green, Jr. At the historic St. Johns Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of parents, she continued to grow, developing a stronger relationship with God. Being faithful in her Kingdom assignment she was chosen to be an Evangelist Missionary. Also, while being faithful the doors of opportunity began to open, and she became a Sunday School teacher, Youth Choir President, Drama Guild President, Cheerleaders & Step Team leader, and the decorator for the church events.
In 1996, Mother Golden became co-founder and the First Lady of Greater Emmanuel Temple COGIC in Hampton, Virginia. She and her husband birthed this great ministry for God along with their three sons, (Bishop) Michael Jr., Benjamin, & Marcus. In 2009 she became the First Lady of the Peninsula District of the Second Jurisdiction, VA. through her husband’s elevation as Superintendent. Also, in 1996, she was selected to be the Minister of Music for the Second Jurisdiction, VA. #2. In 2008 she became the AIM Chairman for the Second Jurisdiction leading five major auxiliaries, Missions, Evangelism, Sunday School, YPWW & Music to great success. In 2012 Mother Golden was consecrated in her local church to become the Mother of Greater Emmanuel Temple COGIC, the Daily Operations Manager, Event Coordinator and she serves on the Boards of Administrators and Advisory where her son is now the pastor. Also, in this year, she was selected to be the coordinator of the Women’s Track of the International Men Perfecting Men’s Conference for the Church Of God In Christ.
Mother Golden loves her family and believes as a mother, your first ministry is to raise and nurture your children. Her three sons have all been trained and developed to work in the ministry. Mother Golden has been a major influence in many lives, too numerous to count, in a positive way. She has a heart for the youth, a passion for married couples staying together and a concern for the senior citizens.
Saved, sanctified and Holy Ghost-filled, Mother Deborah E. Golden means heaven all the way! Let's celebrate and show Mother Golden some love.
