According to Realtor.com, September 27 through October 3 is projected to be the best week of 2026 to buy a home nationally, based on seasonal housing trends.
Why? Buyers shopping during this window could see up to 31.9% more active listings than at the beginning of the year and potentially save around $14,000 on a median-priced home compared with the summer peak.
More choices. Potentially better pricing. Less competition. And possibly a little more negotiating room. 🙌
📍 But what about Kings & Tulare Counties?
Our local market is giving buyers some opportunities of its own. Recent local data shows roughly 3.14 months of inventory in Kings County and 2.9 months in Tulare County, with homes averaging about 31 days on market in Kings County and 50 days in Tulare County.
That means buyers in Hanford, Lemoore, Visalia, Tulare, and surrounding Central California communities may have more time to evaluate their options and negotiate than they did in faster-moving markets of the past—but the opportunity can vary significantly by neighborhood, price range, and property.
The “best week” nationally doesn’t automatically mean it’s the best week for YOU. Your budget, financing, goals, and our local inventory matter much more than a date on the calendar.
