Your offer is submitted…now what? 👀

Once your Real Estate Professional sends your offer to the seller, one of three things can happen:
✅ Accepted
❌ Rejected
🔄 Counter Offered

A counter offer simply means one or both parties want to adjust certain terms before reaching an agreement. Common negotiations include:

📅 Closing Date

📄 Contingencies

Home inspections are one of the biggest parts of this stage. Buyers deserve the opportunity to fully understand the condition of the property before moving forward—especially since this is often the largest purchase of their lifetime.

Other common contingencies may include:

The Home Buying Process - Iron Valley Real Estate Hanover

- Meet with one or more Real Estate Professionals and find one you feel comfortable working with throughout this process.
- Get Pre-Approved: this will ensure you search in your price range, are comfortable within that range, and uncover any potential hurdle up front.
- Search for Homes: look at available home online and schedule in person showings on the properties that interest you.
- Make an Offer: your real estate (professional) agent will prepare your offer and will review it with you to make sure you understand the terms.
- Negotiation and Contract: negotiate with seller concerning price, closing date, inspections, etc.
- In Escrow: buyer and seller have agreed on price and terms and the property is held until closing.
- Final Details: perform your due diligence-inspections, appraisal, and review terms with the lender.
- Closing: transfer ownership by signing mortgage documents and transferring the deed.

CONGRATULATIONS! You are now a Home Owner!!
