Today, while meeting with homeowners in Vermont to discuss preparing their home for the market, we checked the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors—something required at the time of sale. To our surprise, one detector had expired in 1991 and another in 1992!
It was a powerful reminder that many of us may not think about our smoke and carbon monoxide detectors until it's too late.
Take a few minutes today to check the detectors in your home:
✔️ Test each alarm
✔️ Check the manufacture or expiration date
✔️ Replace outdated units and batteries as needed
A simple replacement could make all the difference and may save your life or the lives of those you love.
