Here are 14 reasons why I love my Valentine…
14. Joe would do anything for me and our kids.
13. He is talented at so many things - a Pararescueman is a jack-of-all-trades, as they say. Even though he’s retired from that job, his new gig as a Firefighter brings new talents, and he has a little time to work in his wood shop.
12. He loves it when I laugh - so he always tries to keep me laughing.
11. Joe always knows what to say when I am down - he picks me right back up.
10. He would probably rather stay home after so many years of being away for work, but he is still willing to pack up and go places because he knows I love to travel.
9. Joe works hard at everything he does. He is a ‘get things done’ kind of guy, and never procrastinates.
8. He’s still the one for me. When I met him 20 years ago, I swooned over his long, curvy eyelashes. He’s still just as handsome, but knowing what I do about what’s inside has made me love him for so much more than his looks. As an added bonus, all four kids got his lashes.
7. Joe tells me three things he appreciates about me every night before we go to sleep (I do the same). We read an article about that early on in our marriage, and we keep up with it. It really does make a difference if you have to look for good things someone did throughout the day, instead of pointing out the bad!
6. Joe will always eat whatever I cook - even if it’s a disaster - and be grateful that I cooked it.
5. He has a personal relationship with the Lord, knows his Bible, and he’s really great at teaching this to our kids (I learn from him, too).
4. Joe taught our daughter how to change the oil in the truck, and loves having her help him with woodworking stuff. He also loved taking her to Daddy-Daughter dances and still makes it a point to treat her to fancy date nights. She will have high expectations, as she should!
3. He is an amazing gift-giver. For months leading up to a holiday or my birthday, or the kids' birthdays, he looks for clues, and always comes up with something amazing. Lots of times, he picks things I didn’t know I needed or wanted, but end up using every day.
2. Joe makes the best omelets I’ve ever had - spinach, feta and prosciutto.
1. He is the love of my life.

I love you so much, Joe!! Thanks for always making life an adventure.

Here are 8 local Christmas gift ideas you can buy from small businesses right here on the South Shore. First, I absolutely LOVE Hilliards Chocolates in Norwell. It's a locally owned chocolate and candy store, and has been in business for almost a hundred years! They have the most delicious peppermint bark in a handmade wooden box - perfect for gifts. Look for the old Norwell fire station on Route 53.

2. For a hostess gift, or for your Mother-in-Law, how about a hanging evergreen basket or wreath from Lamberts Rainbow Fruit? We’ve gotten our Christmas Tree here every year since we moved back to this area.

3. Located in Hanover, The Toy Box Hanover has been in business for 45 years, another staple on the South Shore! I always love to go in if I’m looking for something for a kid’s birthday party because I know I’ll find something unique and well made, and that’s hard to come by!

4. Down the road a bit you’ll find the Epicurean Kitchen - who wouldn’t appreciate a gift card from EK’s so they can grab the best sandwiches on the South Shore for lunch, or save the kitchen mess and pick up a yummy home-cooked meal for the family on a busy night? For the longest time I stuck with Adam’s Kimchi Reuben, but then one day I tried a bite of my daughter’s Hayden Panini and it was to die for also, because how can you go wrong with prosciutto, apple, brie and fig jam?

5. A little further down, you’ll also find the brand new Prevites - in addition to their Weymouth location, they’re now in Hanover in a beautiful new space with a lot of options, including baked goods, ice cream, quality fresh meats, specialty foods, coffee and a whole lot more. The steak tips are my family’s favorite.

6. Devine Feed & Pet is another Norwell gem also on my list so you can take care of your furry and feathered family members! From yummy looking specialty treats, and chew-worthy toys to squirrel-resistant bird feeders, they’ve got you covered. If you’re in Hanson, visit their sister store, Hanson Grain.

7. Fringe/GettiGear - this one is great because it’s a two-fer! One door, two great shops in Hanover. Fringe Boutique has a great selection of women’s clothes, accessories, and some cute gift ideas, too - my daughter and I both love their Chai Latte candles. GettiGear has all of the active and athleisure things for men and women. Check out the Boston Sports hoodie - super soft and covers all the bases! Know someone who complains about their leggings falling down? I do (it might be me)! GettiGear can fix that.

8. Finally, I have to highlight The Studio in Duxbury because I can always find something in there, even for those hard-to-buy-for people. A beautiful selection of gifts from home accessories, South Shore and Duxbury items, baby gifts, and jewelry awaits. I could get lost in there for days!

Alright South Shore, enjoy shopping local. If you have any other local gift ideas, please let me know. Merry Christmas! 🎄

Last week, I spent 4 days in Naples at an unforgettable Real Estate mastermind. I also saw the most stunning sunsets and snuck over to The Ritz-Carlton Resorts of Naples to peek at this year’s gingerbread house - it was amazing! What can I say? I loved ALL of the houses.

Have you decorated one yet this year? I haven’t picked a day for that yet. Last year though, my family decided to have a little contest. We had to make a real effort to get into the Christmas spirit, as we’d just lost my dad a few months before, and everyone was missing Papa. It was chaotic (like most days at my house) and we put on some Christmas music 🎶 while we worked. Out of the blue, on the Pandora Christmas station, came the song, “What a Wonderful World,” 🌍 by Louis Armstrong. It took us all a few minutes to realize what song it was and that it wasn’t even a Christmas song. If ever I was looking for a sign from above (and I’m always looking), there it was, and it hit me right in the face. That was my dad’s favorite song, ever. What a wonderful world, indeed. Thanks, Dad. ❤️

Who rescued who? Ammo and Rosie have brought our family SO much joy and many miles of walks with people and dogs 🐶 I love. This sweet little pup is being fostered by my friend Andrea and is still waiting for her forever home. Who do you know with room in their ❤️ and home for her? She is very smart, crate trained, knows some commands, would do well with other dogs in the house, and will need a patient family because it takes her a bit to warm up to new people…reach out to Andrea Bean or Rescue Inc. for more info!

Here's 5 things I’m grateful for this year:
5. Friends, family, friends who are family
4. Fall football season where all 4 of my kids were playing or cheering🏈
3. The end of the above-mentioned football season...those bleachers are getting cold 😂❄
2. Traveling to new places, or old, familiar places to visit our tribe
1. Coming home to the South Shore because: Venus Pizza, coffee at Lucky Finn’s, lunch dates at Epicurean Kitchen and Yaz’s Table, trail walks and beach days.
BONUS: This chaotic, crazy life: driving kids around, walking dogs, and showing houses. Someday it will be quiet up in here and I won’t know what to do ‍♀️

Oops, that was technically 6.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey South Shore, here are single story homes for sale: SouthShoreSingleStoryHomes.com

I've hand-picked this list of ranch & master on the main homes for sale.
It's perfect for buyers who are:
- downsizing their current home
- becoming "empty nesters" after their kids graduate this year
- relocating here to be near their grown children & grandkids - looking for a home with minimal or no stairs

I was about to enjoy this giant pancake and thought of the old phrase, "Selling like hot cakes."

Back in the 1800s, you would find cornmeal griddle pancakes at church bake sales and fairs. Obviously, these were best served hot..so this phrase “selling like hot cakes” was used to describe something that’d sell very quickly.

I’d say this perfectly describes what I’ve been seeing the past 12 months across the South Shore.

There’s been an overwhelming influx of buyers and demand, largely due to historically low interest rates.

High demand and fewer homes for sale means we’ve been regularly getting 5+ offers. We’ve routinely listed and sold homes for $20,000 and $30,000 over asking price.

However, in the past 30 days, things are changing.

I’ve seen prices reduced and homes sitting on the market for a couple weeks. Many buyers have decided to wait to purchase and, at the same time, builders are working hard to meet demand.

In other words, I’m seeing hints of normalcy and balance.

Even still, homes were under-built for nearly 10 years. It will take years to catch up.

Right now, we have less than 150 homes under $500,000 on the market on the South Shore.

Here’s my general advice. If you need to buy a home, I have good news.

The market is much more in your favor than it was 60 days ago.

If you are contemplating moving, this fall is a prime time to sell. I use an exclusive marketing strategy on all of my listings that’ll help your home sell, regardless of the market conditions.

But, I saved my best advice for last...don't make any big decisions until you get a blueberry pancake at Strawberry Fair Restaurant in Norwell!

I heard someone say there should be at least one average person in every Olympic race, just for reference. And so I want to officially announce that, if called upon, I will represent my country. As the prophet Isaiah boldly declared in the Old Testament, “Here I am, send me.”
