Monday Morning Memo 🇺🇸

This Memorial Day Monday hits a little different for me.

Yeah… it’s the unofficial kickoff to summer in Northern Michigan. The docks are going in, grills are firing up, boats are getting launched, and everybody’s ready for long weekends, bonfires, cold drinks, and sunsets on the lake.

And trust me… I love all of it.

But today is bigger than that.

Today is about gratitude. Real gratitude.

I woke up this morning thankful to be an American. Thankful to live in a country where a guy can build a business from scratch, work his tail off, chase big dreams, fail, get back up, reinvent himself, and keep swinging.

That freedom didn’t happen by accident.

It was protected by generations of men and women who were willing to sacrifice everything for people they’d never even meet.

That’s what Memorial Day is really about.

Somebody gave up birthdays, anniversaries, family dinners, future plans, and in many cases their lives… so the rest of us could live ours freely.

That perspective should humble every one of us.

I’m grateful for my family, my friends, my clients, my health, my opportunities, and the ability to wake up every day and do work I genuinely love. I don’t take that lightly.

And in my world, I get the privilege of helping people chase their own piece of the American Dream. A first home. A lake house. A golf course getaway. A place on the water where the kids and grandkids can make memories for generations.

That stuff matters.

But none of it exists without the people who defended the freedoms that make this country what it is.

So today… enjoy the barbecue. Enjoy the sunshine. Enjoy the lake. Hug your family a little tighter.

But also remember why you have the freedom to enjoy those moments in the first place.

Because somebody never made it home.

God bless the heroes who paid the ultimate price.

And God bless America. 🇺🇸

Monday Morning Memo:

Working hard is where it STARTS.

Nobody — and I mean nobody — is going to outwork me. I’ve been called one of the hardest working people in this business more times than I can count, but honestly… I don’t really think about it that way because this is simply how I was raised.

To me, hard work isn’t some special skill. It’s part of a person’s makeup.

I don’t wake up every day thinking, “Man, I have to grind today.”
This is just who I am.

And truthfully, if working hard constantly exhausts you mentally, emotionally, and physically to the point where you resent it… you might not actually be a hard worker at heart. Because real hard workers are BUILT for it. We gain energy from momentum, competition, accomplishment, and progress.

But here’s where the real magic happens…

At some point you stop just working HARD and you learn how to work SMART.

And when you combine smart systems, smart marketing, smart networking, smart strategy, and smart time management with an already relentless work ethic…

The results become magnificent.

That’s when momentum compounds.
That’s when opportunities start finding YOU.
That’s when average people start wondering how you’re doing it.

Anybody can stay busy.
Anybody can fake hustle on social media.

But the people who truly dominate this business learn how to maximize every ounce of effort and then apply relentless pressure to the right places.

Work hard first.
Learn to work smart second.
Then work SMART HARDER than everybody else.

That’s the formula.

Happy Monday. Let’s go to work.
