Thank you to everyone who donated food and money during this food drive! We collected 845 pounds of canned and jarred food.

Missed it this time? Look for the yellow Lake Christian Ministries van in front of Smith Mountain Building Supply the last Saturday of each month through July. The next food drive is May 30. LCM most needs canned/jarred peanut butter, jelly, soups, vegetables, fruit, canned tuna and chicken.

Lake Christian Ministries and The Willard Companies held the first of several food drives in Westlake on Saturday in an effort to help a growing number of residents in need.

The Willard Companies and Richards Building Supply Co. are excited to announce the sale of Smith Mountain Building Supply and The Cabinet Gallery SML, both located within Westlake Towne Center, to Richards Building Supply, a wholesale distributor of building materials based in Illinois.

Through SMBS and The Cabinet Gallery, The Willard Companies (owned by Ronald Willard Sr.) has serviced the greater Roanoke, Lynchburg and Smith Mountain Lake areas by continually updating the products offered to the region’s builders, local contractors and DIYs. Of the sale to Richards, Ronald Willard Sr. commented, “It’s a great feeling to know your community, employees and customers will continue to be well served with a Family feel.” The Willard Companies will lease the current premises at Westlake Towne Center to Richards Building Supply.

Richard J. Guzior, Chairman of Richards Building Supply Co., further commented, “It’s rewarding to be honored with the challenge of continuing to enhance upon the great foundation the Willard Family has built at the Lake and surrounding community."
