Stab-Lok panels are known to be a fire hazard. This panel had a wire moving as it had electricity going through it. There was also a connection that was burnt from arcing. If you have this type of panel, I recommend having it replaced.

Here is an example on why the gas line that fuels a furnace should have ridged black pipe that goes through the frame of the unit. Flexible pipe can vibrate on the frame of the furnace and wear a hole in the line. I don’t need to tell you what could happen next! 💣💣💣🚑🚒

On July 1, 2025, Governor Kim Reynolds passed the Iowa Home Inspection Accountability Act. This puts more guidelines and responsibilities/requirements for home inspectors. Are you using the hoses that your washing machine came with? These hoses are pry not pressure treated hoses and could burst over time. Spend the extra few bucks and buy the braided pressure hoses to protect yourself from a water disaster.

Some days I still get amazed. Today I inspected a house and the shower had NO DRAIN installed. It was draining into the crawlspace. Inspect before you invest!!
