At the request of the Kansas Attorney General’s Office, the Kansas Real Estate Commission is providing the following information to licensees regarding the Kansas Land and Military Installation Protection Act (SB 9).
đź“Ť Important Requirement:
Pursuant to Substitute for Senate Bill 9, any foreign principal subject to this law who owns or acquires any interest in real property within 100 miles of a military installation located in Kansas or an adjacent state must register that interest with the Attorney General within 90 days of:
Acquiring the interest, or The effective date of the law (whichever is later)
🌍 This registration requirement applies only to foreign principals from the following countries:
People’s Republic of China (including Hong Kong SAR)
Republic of Cuba
Islamic Republic of Iran
Democratic People’s Republic of Korea
Russian Federation
Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela

If you suspect that one of the above entities may hold, has acquired, or plans to acquire an interest in real property without proper notification, please submit a report to the Attorney General’s Office using the link below:
