I talk to so many people who say, "Angel, I’m just going to wait until rates drop again." I get it. We all want to buy a house with that 2.5% interest rate from a few years ago!

But here is the part nobody tells you. While you’re waiting for the interest rate to drop, home prices in Harrisburg are still rising. If you wait 12 months for a "better rate," you might save a little on your monthly payment, but the house you wanted just went up $10,000 or $15,000 in price.

You’re essentially chasing a moving target. 🏃🏾‍♀️💨

Renting is 100% interest. You’re paying someone else’s mortgage while your own equity stays at zero. You can always refinance a loan later if you want a cheaper interest rate, but you can't "rewind" the price of a home once it goes up.

And look, I will tell you the truth. House prices can drop. It happens. But in a market as steady as ours, do you really want to bet your future on "maybe" while you're currently paying 100% interest to a landlord? 🔑

Rest? What is that? 🛑

For so long, I’ve just ran and ran. This past week was a blur of “doing,” and honestly, my body finally reached its limit today. I had this whole 30-minute cardio and abs session planned, but when I woke up, my body just said, “No, girl. It’s time to rest”.

For once, I actually listened. 🧘🏾‍♀️

Instead of forcing the hustle, I did a quick 10-minute core workout and stopped. Even my Oura app confirmed it, today was officially a restorative day.

I’m in a season of learning that rest isn’t a weakness. It’s a requirement. As I get older, I realize that you can’t give your all to your clients or your family if your own battery is at zero. Hustle culture had it wrong. We need the rest just as much as we need the work.

(Note: This video is actually from back in August! I’m not on a Virgin Voyage cruise right now, but looking at this makes me want to be back on one with my mommy!) 🚢❤️
