Welcome back to Dome Sweet Home! 🏡

This room is now one of my favorite spaces in the house, but when we first bought our geodesic home, I couldn't quite figure out what it was supposed to be.

We already had a living room on the other side of the house. This room sits right off the kitchen and connects to a dormer that leads to the back deck and gazebo.

🤔 And seriously... what is that little cabinet beside the fireplace?

Would you keep it, remove it, or redesign it completely?

After trying a few different uses for this space over the years, I think we finally figured out what this room was meant to be. I'll share the transformation soon!

For the longest time, this wall was just a big blank space stretching through our home. It had no personality, no charm, and honestly, it was easy to ignore. I knew it needed something special, but I wasn't sure if I was brave enough to paint it black.

My husband wasn't exactly convinced, and if I'm being honest, I had my doubts too. Black paint feels like a big commitment! But once the paint went up and we started adding family photos, artwork, and pieces we love, the entire space came to life.

What was once a boring wall is now one of my favorite spots in our dome home. The dark backdrop added so much depth and created the perfect place to showcase memories and collections that were tucked away without a home.

I finally shared the full transformation on the blog, including the process, lessons learned, product sources, and, of course, lots of before-and-after photos.

• Update your curb appeal by adding some flowers and plants to your front yard or even a fresh coat of paint to the front door.
• Make sure your outdoor spaces standout by keeping them clean and free of clutter. Maybe even get new pillows for your patio furniture!
• Keep your home’s A/C at a cool temperature so potential buyers feel comfortable when viewing.
• Leave out bottles of water for potential buyers to enjoy!

When a winter storm forecast promised 12-18 inches of snow, I did what any reasonable DIYer would do... I started a bathroom renovation. 😅

This tiny second-floor bathroom in our geodesic dome went from builder-grade beige to a rich, color-drenched retreat using Behr Ocean Abyss. By layering in warm wood tones, brushed gold accents, and much-needed storage, the space now feels calm, intentional, and surprisingly spacious.

As a realtor, I often recommend neutral finishes for resale. But this bathroom isn't a listing, it's our home. Sometimes design isn't about future buyers. It's about creating a space that feels right for the life you're living today.

Here are some simple hacks to stay clean and organized:

• Invest in a high-efficiency dishwasher. Newer models are designed to hold more place settings. Remember to fill the dishwasher, not the sink!
• Add storage. Pantry door racks, drawer organizers, and kitchen island carts can add several cubic feet of extra space for hiding away clutter.
