This might just be my favorite closing of my entire career. ❤️

My son bought a house. 🏡

And as his mom, I couldn’t be more proud. He has worked so hard to make this happen, and getting to sit beside him at the closing table was one of those moments I’ll never forget.

But this closing was special on the other side of the table, too.

The sellers had called this place home for 27 years. Now in their 80s, the acreage had simply become too much to maintain, and it was time for them to downsize. You could tell handing over the keys was bittersweet. This wasn’t just a house they were selling. It was 27 years of memories.

That’s the thing about real estate that I never want to lose sight of.

Every closing is more than paperwork, inspections, negotiations and keys. It’s one chapter ending so another one can begin.

For one family, it was time to say goodbye.

For my son, it’s just the beginning. ❤️

And this mama/realtor is pretty darn proud. 🏡

What if you didn’t have to choose between land and convenience?

What if you could have 11+ acres, room for horses or animals, a long private drive, a pool, a big front porch, six bedrooms, and enough space for everyone to spread out…without giving up being close to everything?

Sometimes changing your life starts with changing your location.

Would you move for this kind of life?

Thanks to my Facebook notifications for letting me know that 5 years ago I got my real estate license.

What?! Where did the time go?

Quick recap of the last 5 years...

Closed my restaurant, put 70,000+ miles on my car, gained 50 pounds, lost 30 pounds (hardest job ever), got divorced, got two kids across the high school finish line, got engaged to the love of my life, and sold somewhere between 182 and 200 homes.

Yes, I know. I should have kept better records on the homes (for the record...I am now watching the pounds closely).

But here's the funny thing...

I may not remember the exact number, but I can still tell you the story behind every single one. Their number is still stored in my phone, and when they call, we pick up right where we left off.

And many of those clients became so much more than clients.

Some became close friends. Some became family, and those come to my home for the holidays.

Five years and almost 200 homes later, I've realized this job was never really about houses.

It's always been about people.

Thank you to every person who trusted me to be part of your story.

Here's to the next chapter. 🥂

🔑Four closings this week. Four different families. Four different chapters. 📚

My sweet seller traded a custom home for a place in town, closer to coffee shops, bookstores, and all of the little cafés that make daily life a little easier.

Another closing marked the end of a family farm chapter. This one was especially bittersweet. They started as clients, but somewhere along the way they became dear friends. We shared birthday parties, graduation parties, weekends at the lake, and countless memories. They became family.
Before meeting the new buyers for the final walkthrough, I recorded a goodbye video. It was emotional. I almost didn't send it, but I wanted my friends to know how much they meant to me over the years.

Then I met the buyers. They talked about the acreage, which animals they planned to get first, the pool, and all of the memories they hoped to create there. They were excited because the garden still had tomatoes, peppers, and the most beautiful flowers all in bloom.

This may sound corny, but that's when it hit me.

Chapters exist for a reason.

Ending one doesn't mean something is lost. It simply means another story is beginning.

The final two closings involved a family saying goodbye to the home where they brought their children home for the very first time. They're moving closer to school and activities and into a home that better fits this stage of life.
And their buyers? They're just beginning their journey. Their little ones will spend years enjoying the swingset, the slide, and the acreage.

Real estate isn't really about houses.

It's about people, seasons of life, and the beautiful transition from one chapter to the next. ♥️
