I talk about and share listings and information often. But today I want to tell you a little about me and my “Why”.
After spending 33 years in undergraduate admissions at a private university, I wasn’t sure where my next chapter would lead. I loved every part of recruiting—whether it was working with traditional freshmen and their parents or helping non-traditional students find a pathway that fit their lives. Sometimes that pathway included starting at a community college and later transferring in with a scholarship. Guiding students toward opportunity was always deeply meaningful to me.
Although I was offered positions at other institutions, it almost felt like I’d be cheating on my first love. So instead, in 2017 I took a leap of faith into real estate—and discovered that it has more in common with my previous career than I ever expected.
The American dream of homeownership isn’t simple or accessible for everyone. Just like in admissions, people come with different stories, needs, and obstacles. I love getting to know my buyers and sellers, understanding their journeys, and helping them navigate funding options and home choices. Along the way, I’ve built a trusted network of loan officers, appraisers, bankers, repair professionals, inspectors, and more. Relationship-building matters just as much in real estate as it did in admissions.
My background in admissions, financial aid, and student affairs—and my degrees in Management Leadership, Counseling & Guidance, and Educational Specialist studies—have given me a strong foundation in marketing, project management, time management, communication, microsoft office, social media, etc. Those skills have translated seamlessly into my real estate career.
Through my work as a Realtor licensed in both Tennessee and Kentucky (double the coursework!) and my service as a Claiborne County Commissioner for District 7, continuing education is a constant requirement. It’s amazing how often the lessons from one area apply directly to the other, strengthening my skillset and broadening my impact.
I may have changed industries, but my mission remains the same: to guide people toward opportunities, support them through important transitions, and build relationships that last. If I can do anything to help you, please reach out. Networking is definitely something I LOVE! And I am so thankful for the paths God has laid for me.
