Today is National Dog Day, but in our house it's DOGS day. Here are Annie (10 yrs), Thelma (4), Geordy (4?) and Nora (6?). They are all rescued females who are now "living the life". Come by for a lick or two.

For my 70th birthday, I didn’t want or need any gifts, but I wanted to try and collect 70 items to donate to a food pantry. My friends were very generous and helped me reach that goal. My car is loaded with donations. You can only see the top layer but there is a layer of canned goods below in each box of bag. There will be many happy families. Thank you everyone. You really made my day.

Happy 5th day of Hanukkah. Last evening we had a wonderful celebration with friends. The latkes were excellent as was the rest of the meal. For everyone who celebrates Hanukkah, I hope you find light and joy during this season.

We had an early morning tour of the Vatican grounds and rooms leading to the Sistine Chapel but no photos allowed in the Chapel.
