Today we got to take a behind-the-scenes new construction education tour, walking through different stages of the building process and learning what you should actually be looking for — especially the things that eventually get hidden behind the walls! 👀

We covered everything from plumbing rough-ins and framing before & after drywall, to HVAC damper systems, Smurf tubes for future wiring, modern red & blue PEX plumbing vs. traditional copper, garage finishing details (including why you shouldn’t have traditional baseboards in the garage 😳), and SO many other little tips and tricks that can make a BIG difference.

One of my biggest takeaways: a brand-new home doesn’t automatically mean a perfect home. Knowing what to look for during each phase of construction is so important.

The more I learn about how homes are actually built, the better equipped I am to ask the right questions, spot potential concerns, and advocate for my buyers throughout the new-build process. 🏡🔨
