Ink in the Alley returned to downtown Hattiesburg this weekend, bringing together tattoo artists, local vendors, and the community for a full day of art and entertainment at the historic Saenger Theatre and Hattiesburg Pocket Museum!

From permanent and temporary tattoos to local artwork, handmade goods, food, and drinks, there was plenty happening throughout the day.

It was great seeing our local tattoo artists showcase their talent and the community come together to celebrate tattoo art and local creativity right here in the Hub City!

One of the largest lumber companies in Mississippi once stood right here in Hattiesburg — and at its peak, around 1,500 people worked there.

Then in 1908, the entire mill burned down.

It was such an important part of Hattiesburg’s economy that the community and the city stepped up to make sure it was rebuilt. But what happened after the fire may have helped change the future of Hattiesburg forever — and more than 100 years later, you can still see its impact today.

I teamed up with local historian Russell Archer and Hub History Experience to tell the full story in the newest episode of Hidden History of Hattiesburg.

One of Hattiesburg’s best Friday night traditions is BACK! 🎶

Live at Five kicks off its fall season this Friday at Town Square Park with T-Bone Pruitt!

Music starts at 5 PM, admission is completely FREE, and there’ll be local food vendors, drinks, and plenty of people hanging out and enjoying live music right in the middle of the Hub City.

And this is just the beginning — Live at Five is back every Friday through October 30 with a different band each week.
