Two of the Staging Sisters, Carol and I, spent a week at her son, Jeremy and Sarah's house in Pa. We landscaped the front yard by using retaining blocks to terrace the slopes, then added low evergreens, perennial plants, mulch and solar landscape lights. Painted shutters, garage doors, outside lights and adding a trellis on which a climatis will climb gave a new and updated look to the brick front. The light post and mailbox were painted black, surrounded by low growing ground cover and mulch.
Inside a barn door gate was built and added to the "kitchen to basement" door including self-closing hinges to keep the gate closed for safety.
