đĄ WAITING FOR 3% MORTGAGE RATES? YOU MAY BE WAITING A LONG TIME.
If youâve been saying, âIâm going to buy a house when rates come back down,â youâre not alone.
But hereâs the reality: todayâs higher mortgage rates may be with us for a while. NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun recently said buyers should âexpect 7% as the new normal.â
Does that mean you should rush out and buy a house? Absolutely not.
It means you may want to stop asking:
â âWhen will rates drop?â
âŚand start asking:
â
âCan I comfortably afford the right home TODAY?â
Because while youâre waiting:
đ Home prices could rise
đ° Youâre still paying rent
đ Lower rates could bring MORE buyers and MORE competition
â¤ď¸ The right house could come along before the âperfectâ rate does
And hereâs the part buyers sometimes forget:
If rates come down later, refinancing may be an option. But you canât go back and buy the house you passed on today at todayâs price.
Buying a home isnât about perfectly timing the market. Itâs about finding the right home, at the right payment, at the right time for YOU.
If the numbers donât work today, WAIT. Thatâs okay.
But if they DO work, donât let the dream of a âperfectâ interest rate automatically stop you from becoming a homeowner.
Wondering what you could realistically afford in todayâs market?
đ˛ Letâs run the numbers and find out. No pressureâjust information.
