A condo with an HOA can feel annoying until you understand what you’re actually paying for — and for a lot of first-time buyers, it’s also what makes homeownership doable.

In many condo buildings, the HOA covers big “shared” costs you’d otherwise pay on your own: the building’s exterior insurance (so you typically only need a walls-in policy), ongoing maintenance for things like elevators and garages, common area upkeep, landscaping, and amenities like a pool.

The key is to read the HOA documents and ask: what does this fee replace for me, and do I like having those costs more controlled and predictable?

What a day! Sam had prom and took off just before 3pm. So……. I got to go to Bottle Rock as Kelly’s plus one! What a great opportunity to catch up and dance!!!! I was shaking after meeting Maoli and taking a picture with him. It was so unexpected.
