Your Second Home Should Feel Like a Vacation, Not a To-Do List

There’s a lot that happens before one of our clients walks through the door of their second home.

And every home - and every client - is a little different.

We might have the house cleaned, stock the refrigerator and wine cellar with their favorite things, take the coverings off the patio furniture, or make sure the patio is cleaned up and ready.

If they keep cars here, we’ll make sure they’ve been driven, have gas, and are clean.

We’ll turn the water heaters back up and make sure the systems we’ve been maintaining while they were gone are ready for them to use.

It’s all of those little things that make a difference when they finally arrive.

Because I don’t want our clients walking through the door and immediately thinking about what needs to be done.

I want it to feel resort ready.

They should be able to put their bags down, settle in, and start enjoying their time here.

That’s really what Aspen Aire Property is about.

We take care of everything while you’re away so your home is ready when you are.

One of my favorite parts of this job actually has very little to do with houses.

It’s the people.

When you take care of someone’s second home year after year, you get to know them.

You learn how they like their home kept.

You learn what matters to them.

You learn the little things that make their time here easier.

And when they’re hundreds of miles away, they know there’s somebody here who knows their home and is looking after it.

I think that’s one of the things that can get lost when people think about property management.

It’s not just checking a house or coordinating maintenance.

There’s a relationship and a lot of trust involved.

After 18 years, that’s still one of the most rewarding parts for me - knowing I’m helping our clients when they can’t be here themselves.
