CLUBHOUSE POOL UPDATE, AND MORE!

The new pump system was delivered over the weekend and installation was completed this afternoon. Everything seems to be running properly but the water needs to circulate a couple of days and get the chemicals right, so the clubhouse pool will officially reopen regular hours on Thursday, 8/27/26.

Work will begin tomorrow, 8/25/26, at the pavilion to regrade the area around the pavilion and install a drainage system to prevent the area from being so muddy and dirty all the time. The area will be finished with new sod. The pavilion will need to be closed the remainder of this week while work is in progress. Please keep away from the work area and any equipment that may be present.

NOTICE: CLUBHOUSE POOL CLOSURE

The Clubhouse Pool has a malfunctioning pump system and is not able to circulate and filter the water. Per Health Department guidelines the pool must be closed. The replacement parts will consist of a new commercial grade variable speed pump motor that will offer extended life and significant energy savings. The board has been given an estimated completion of installation of 2-3 weeks. We could have gotten an exact replacement more quickly but the board elected to think of the long term benefits of having an up-to-date pump system. We sincerely apologize about the timing of this issue, but the Parkway Pool is still open and we hope this is only a minor inconvenience. Any updates on reopening will be communicated here and via email from PMI.

Good evening neighbors! Your board of directors wants to make you aware of further upcoming activity you may notice around the neighborhood.

Your board has just approved a vendor to begin clearing, trimming and cleaning up a long list of "natural areas" around Old Cahaba. The list has 15 specific areas in the neighborhood that will be addressed including clearing back trees and brush from around and behind the rock walls at the entrances, the culvert between lakes on OC Drive, several other association owned properties adjacent to private properties and a few other areas. It will take several weeks to get all of this work completed, so please be patient as the vendor works through the list.

Your board is aware these areas have not been managed in some time, but the upkeep will be included in future contracts with our landscaping partners.

Look how nice!! The Parkway playground has been leveled and all new rubber mulch is installed!! The playground will still be closed until tomorrow (Saturday) so all equipment can be removed and the area cleaned up from the work!

The Parkway Playground work is coming along nicely! Yesterday the crew removed all of the old wood mulch down to the dirt and leveled. Today they will install the underlayment to prevent weeds and install the new rubber mulch. The playground should be open for business Saturday morning!!

Work should begin tomorrow, Thursday 8/6/26, on the playground beside the Parkway Pool. The existing wood mulch will be removed, new underlayment applied and brand new rubber mulch will be installed. The playground will be closed while this work is being performed. The work hopefully will be completed in one full day but could go into Friday. If you visit the pools please take care to keep your distance from any equipment being used for safety.

There are a couple of upcoming projects to be aware of. More details will be sent out as the vendor provides us with the information.

1) This next week there will be work done at the Parkway Playground to replace the existing wood mulch with rubber mulch. This will close the playground for at least a couple days while the work is being done.

2) Soon also there will be new drainage system installed around the pavilion. This will alleviate the muddy areas and sod will be installed as needed.

3) The board hopes to review quotes this next week and make a decision on moving forward with cleanup of the overgrown common areas around the neighborhood.

Dear Old Cahaba Homeowners,

This is a friendly reminder that the 2026 Annual Meeting is scheduled for tonight at 6:00 PM at the Community Clubhouse.

An agenda for tonight's annual meeting is attached to the email just sent out to owners.

We encourage all homeowners to attend and participate as we will announce the election results and new board members.

We look forward to seeing you this evening and appreciate your involvement in the community.

Board Election and Annual Meeting

Tomorrow 6/9/26 at 6:00pm is the Old Cahaba Annual Meeting where votes will be tallied for the three board positions being filled this year. The link below contains instructions, the ballot (page 3) and candidate questionnaires (beginning page 5).

We urge participation from all owners to stay engaged in the community to help shape the future of Old Cahaba. Emailed ballots must be sent by noon on 6/9/26, or can be brought to the meeting at the clubhouse.
