Success is a little about what you know, a little more about who you know but it’s mostly about who knows you.

For transitioning Service Members, that idea matters.

You already bring discipline, leadership, resilience, and the ability to execute under pressure. The next mission is learning how to translate those strengths into a new industry and putting yourself in the rooms where new opportunities can find you.

Through our team's initiative, in partnership with the SkillBridge Hiring Our Heroes Program, Service Members get more than an introduction to real estate.

They get the opportunity to learn, connect, contribute, and build visibility within the industry.

From residential real estate and property management to short-term rentals, syndications, private capital, and real estate investing, participants gain hands-on exposure while building something equally valuable: relationships and reputation.

Because knowledge can get you prepared.

Your network can get you connected.

But when people know your name, know your work ethic, and know the value you bring, that’s when opportunities can start coming to you.

Different battlefield. Same discipline. New network. New mission.

From military service to the real estate grind, we’re building on the long-term vision while stacking short-term executions.

This was one of our projects.

From the outside, construction looks straightforward.

But behind every successful project are countless conversations, challenges, disagreements, and decisions.

Not every meeting is easy.

Not every solution is obvious.

That's the reality of building! Whether it's a home, a commercial property, or a real estate portfolio.

The goal isn't to avoid challenges.

The goal is to work through them with the right team, communicate openly, and stay focused on the end result.

That's how quality projects are built.

And it's the same mindset we bring to every investment opportunity.

Real estate isn't just about buying properties.

It's about solving problems, creating value, and executing with discipline.

What's the biggest lesson you've learned from a challenging project?

Everyone asks me:

"How many properties do you own?"

Wrong question.

I'd rather answer:

"How many people trust you?"

Because that's what determines whether you'll get the next opportunity.

Trust compounds faster than money.

Agree?

I built relationships.

The portfolio came later.

Looking back...

Every opportunity I value today...

came from someone I knew.

Not an algorithm.

Not a marketing funnel.

A relationship.

Real estate is still a people business.

Always has been.

What's one relationship that changed your career?

One Habit I Brought From Combat

Every mission started with planning.

Every investment should too.

Before we discuss returns...

I want to know...

• What's the downside?

• What's Plan B?

• What's the exit?

That's not pessimism.

That's preparation.

Good investing isn't about predicting the future.

It's about preparing for multiple futures.

Do you have a decision-making framework?

I Ask Every Property One Question

Before buying anything...

I ask one question.

"Will people still need this ten years from now?"

That's one reason I'm drawn to markets supported by long-term economic drivers, including military communities with consistent housing demand.

Trends change.

Fundamentals don't.

What question do you always ask before making an investment?

The Most Valuable Property I Ever Owned...
..wasn't the most expensive.

It wasn't the prettiest.

It wasn't even my biggest return.

It simply taught me the most.

Every investor has that property.

The one that changed how they think forever.

Mine taught me...

Cash flow solves problems.

Appreciation creates headlines.

Cash flow keeps you in business.

Which investment taught you the biggest lesson?

One Decision Changed How I Invest Forever

I used to think buying more properties meant making more money.

I don't believe that anymore.

After managing hundreds of properties...

I realized something.

Complexity compounds faster than profits.

Every additional property means...

• another roof

• another tenant

• another insurance policy

• another problem waiting to happen

Bigger isn't always better.

Better systems are.

Have you ever simplified something and ended up making more?

Risk in real estate doesn’t start in the spreadsheet.
It starts in operations.

When you manage almost 400 units across
residential, commercial, and short‑term rentals, you see:

Which neighborhoods stay full in every cycle.
Which “pretty” buildings quietly drain cash.
Which teams actually execute
and which ones just talk a good game.

It changed how I underwrite.

Now I don’t just underwrite the property.
I underwrite:

* The market
* The business plan
* The people running it day‑to‑day

That’s the discipline behind Legacy Valor Capital.

If you invest passively,
this is the question I’d ask every sponsor:

“Who is really running this asset,
and how do you measure that they’re doing it well?

People sometimes ask how combat leadership
connects to commercial real estate.

For me, it’s direct.

In combat, every decision has consequences.
You learn to:

Respect risk.
Plan three moves ahead.
Execute the plan with precision.

In investing, I do the same.

I’m not trying to be the flashiest operator.
I’m trying to be the most disciplined one.

I look at:

– Who depends on this asset for income
– What happens in a downturn
– Whether the business plan survives bad news

That’s what “mission‑driven” means to me in real estate.

If you’re a veteran in business,
what’s one lesson from service
that still guides your financial decisions today?
