Sweet baby needs help.
❤️1/19 PM update! A local adopter has been found who also lives in the area. Meet and greet and home checks completed today and this new adoption is complete! This allows Norms friends to stay in touch with Sunny and will also keep the door open should future visits be able to happen. Thank you all so much! There are sooo many other dogs in need who need homes! Please check our page for a few others looking for homes or out of the shelter. Thanks!
🛑1/19 Updates...PLEASE READ
🐾The response from people interested in adopting Sunny has been overwhelming. We appreciate all that have messaged or emailed us. We have not yet been able to reply to everyone but are grateful for so much interest.
🐾Meet and greets are being done by a friend of the family (with rescue experience) locally in the West Hills/Chatsworth area. So for the many people who have inquired from out of the area and even out of state, unfortunately there's no way for that to happen with you all. We are hopeful that someone local will be picked, who will be the best fit for Sunny.
🐾The option to take Sunny to Norms assisted living care facility that allows service dogs, or dogs, was not an option for him. Sunny can be a protector of Norm which, would not be a good fit for a busy facility. His desire was to find her a new home, if at all possible. In his 93 yr old thought process, he felt taking her to a shelter might achieve that (but we all know that would not be the right place for her).
🐾We at Dog Days, are just courtesy posting to help. We were informed pretty last minute and wanted to use our reach, and all of you, to help bring awareness and potential adopters. WE are not doing meet & greets or the adoption. We thank you all for the tags and shares. We were so worried about Sunny going to the shelter but are positive Sunny will find a new home now in the abundance of offers. We will update you as soon as we know more!
🐾Lastly, we are touched by so many of you who have lost your special dogs at some point and wanted to open your home to Sunny for some reason or another. We feel your pain and loss of those before. Some of the stories messaged over have been so heartfelt. ❤️

🛑 Urgent Update on Sunny! We are sure many of you remember the story of 93 year-old Norm and his dog Sunny who was lost and reunited by our team. Unfortunately, and also very heartbreaking, Norm is going to be moving into assisted-living and Sunny is unable to go with him as they do not allow dogs there. There is also nowhere in the family for Sunny to go. So she has a week left to find a new home or she is at risk of being taken to the shelter and Norm doesn't want to have to take her there. 😭
Sunny is a beautiful lab at 6-7 years old, fixed and up to date on shots. She was adopted as a stray and has been Norms very loyal companion and protector for years. Now she needs help and a new home ASAP, or she is shelter bound according to Norm. She has a week left to find a place to go. She is good with dogs (proper intros of course) and potty trained. She just needs someone to open up a spot for her. She is located in Chatsworth, CA.
We are unsure if she is good with cats or kids.
