Planning your next move? Here’s my favorite tips for a smooth and almost painless move! 🏠🔑
1. Start EARLY (like… earlier than you want to)
Vegas heat is no joke. In warmer months, aim to have the truck loaded/unloaded before peak sun hits. Your future self will thank you.
2. Pack a “First 24 Hours” bag 🧳
Think: chargers, toiletries, meds, pajamas, snacks, paper towels, and a change of clothes.
You do not want to be digging through 17 boxes at 10pm.
3. Turn on utilities BEFORE you arrive
AC is non-negotiable in Vegas. Make sure power + water are already on so you walk into comfort, not a sauna.
4. Clean before the boxes come in 🧼
Even if it looks clean… quick wipe-down of counters, bathrooms, and floors hits different when it’s empty. If possible schedule for professional cleaners to come in.
5. Label boxes by ROOM (and priority)
“Kitchen” is good.
“Kitchen – coffee first ☕️” is better.
6. Protect yourself from the desert dust
Keep wipes, a small vacuum, or a broom handy—Vegas wind loves to bring the outside in.
7. Feed your people 🍕
Whether it’s pizza, protein shakes, or a quick drive-thru run—happy movers = faster move.
8. Do a quick home check walkthrough 🔍
Test outlets, AC, lights, locks, and appliances before you fully settle in.
9. Meet your new neighborhood
Say hi, take a short walk, find your nearest coffee spot—you’re not just moving into a house, it’s a whole new rhythm.
10. Don’t try to do it all in one day
Unpack what you need, not everything. Let your home come together slowly.
Pro tip: If you went under contract in April, closed in May, and your first payment isn’t until July… this is your window to move strategically instead of stressfully 👀
