Smishing (SMS phishing) is a type of fraud where scammers use text messages to trick individuals into revealing sensitive information such as bank details, login credentials, or wire transfer instructions.

In real estate transactions, smishing scams often target buyers, sellers, agents, or escrow officers. A scammer may send a message posing as a lender, escrow company, or real estate agent, providing fake wire instructions or urgent requests for payment. If funds are sent to the fraudulent account, they are often difficult or impossible to recover out.

The Durango Casino & Resort is building a movie theater and a bowling alley as part of a major expansion project that is set to begin construction in January 2026. The 275,000-square-foot expansion will also include new restaurants, more slot machines, and other entertainment venues.

Project details: The expansion includes a 36-lane bowling alley and luxury movie theaters.

New additions: The project will also add a 400-slot machine casino floor and several new restaurants and entertainment venues.

Timeline: Construction on this phase is expected to start in January 2026, with an approximate 18-month completion time.

The development will be built in phases, with the main activity hub — known as the podium — elevated above street level and accessible via escalators, elevators, and walkways from nearby resorts like Excalibur and MGM Grand.
