Starting after May 1, 2026, VA appraisal updates are bringing more flexibility to the homebuying process:

✔️ Paint conditions on homes built after 1978 are now considered cosmetic
✔️ Detached sheds, barns & garages no longer need to meet MPR standards
✔️ Certain radon certification requirements are being removed
