We have officially entered Halloween month!!

What is Manna Foodbank and why should we all be supporting them? As we mark the 2-year anniversary of Helene, I am reminded of all the good work MANNA FoodBank did for the community.

ONE COMMUNITY. ONE MISSION. FOOD FOR ALL.

Here in Western North Carolina, we know what it means to come together when our neighbors need us most.

MANNA FoodBank’s mission is simple but powerful: to involve, educate, and unite people in the work of ending hunger in Western North Carolina. Their vision is a hunger-free WNC.

But MANNA is about so much more than a food box.

Through a network of 300+ local food partners and school partners, MANNA helps get food to our neighbors across Western North Carolina. More than 95% of the food MANNA distributes goes through these community partners, allowing local organizations to connect directly with the people they serve.

And the need is real.

In MANNA’s most recent annual report, the organization and its partners distributed more than 23 million pounds of food and provided more than 19 million meals during fiscal year 2024–2025.

Hunger can affect any community — and ending it takes an entire community, too.
