Why I love calling middle Tennessee "home"...

As a Hendersonville, TN native, I've grown to love all four seasons. As "they" say, if you don't like the weather, wait 'til tomorrow. Old Hickory Lake (OHL). Whether it's a boat cruise to dinner on the lake, fishing, watersports, or just sunbathing, OHL provides the perfect outlet. Also, Hendersonville boasts some of the most beautiful lake-homes in

the area and you can make a great lake day just by cruising the shoreline checking them out. The list of "things to do" is much too long to list. As one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S., there really isn't much that you can't find in Nashville. (https://www.visitmusiccity.com/things-to-do-in-nashville)

Additionally, I enjoy giving back to the community by assistant-coaching at North Nashville's Premier Soccer Club, Tennessee United Soccer Club (https://www.tnunitedsc.com/), located in Sumner County. I have two kids in the program. I'd be happy to give you more information about the club if you're interested! *Our family spends a lot of weekends on the road traveling to games and seeing other cities, and that always gives me a greater appreciation of “home”. Power outages are possible with the upcoming winter weather. If you’re using a generator, please read and share — this can save lives.

Never use generators indoors — not in homes, garages, basements, or near windows or doors. Carbon monoxide is invisible, odorless, and deadly.

Use generators outdoors only, at least 20 feet away from buildings, with exhaust facing away from the home.

Do NOT plug generators into wall outlets (“backfeeding”). This can cause fires and seriously injure utility workers. Use a proper transfer switch.

Turn generators off and let them cool before refueling to prevent fires or explosions.

Make sure carbon monoxide detectors are working on every level of your home, especially near bedrooms.

There's been a lot of talk about a possible 50-year mortgage. Now seems the opportune time to remind everyone of how simple it can be to save a bundle of time and money and NOT set ourselves up to be in debt for life!

Making an extra lump sum payment each year (or 1/12 per month applied to principal) can greatly reduce the time and interest to pay off your home.
