When I do talks about downsizing, I explain that the secondhand market is flooded with “stuff”.

Sometimes you can’t even GIVE what you have away even though it has some useful life left.

As a society, we need to not just donate, but start buying used to decrease the amount of inventory in second-hand stores and in many cases, support good causes and local businesses by doing so.
