What if your money followed a flight plan instead of a guess?

I’m DM McKaskey, founder of Runway Capital Partners.

I started as a pilot and trained as a flight instructor.
After flying, I moved into startups in Silicon Valley working on self-driving cars and training teams how to run safe operations.

From there, I shifted to drones.
I helped test and tune aircraft for humanitarian aid missions and defense work under FAA rules.
I trained engineers, dealt with regulators, and worked with crews in the field.

Later, I led training for more than 600 drone pilots in a year for a drone delivery program that flew out of Walmart parking lots.

Along the way, my wife and I started buying multifamily properties of our own.
We built a network of operators, lenders, and industry specialists that we still learn from and partner with today.

Every step had one theme.
Checklists.
Discipline.
Safety first.

Today I bring that same mindset to multifamily apartment investing at Runway Capital Partners.
My focus is helping high-earning families get into well-underwritten deals with a clear plan and clear communication.

Here are a few things we pay close attention to:

We look for consistent, steady population growth — not hype-driven spikes.

• Rent-to-income balance
A market needs room for renters to afford upgrades and improvements.

• Solid property management
Good operations are the backbone of consistent performance.

• Clear value-add potential
We focus on properties where modest improvements can make a meaningful impact on residents and returns.

• Stability over speculation
We avoid deals built on aggressive assumptions. We focus on durable, long-term fundamentals.
