What you see when you walk through a beautifully restored home is the finished product.

What you don't see are the decisions, surprises, problem solving and occasional marital argument it took to get there. 😂

This home was built in 1893, and restoring a house that's been standing for more than 130 years comes with a few surprises. A kitchen layout that simply didn't function. Original plaster that crumbled when we removed the wallpaper. Beautiful arched woodwork that we desperately wanted to preserve but ultimately had to painstakingly recreate.

Those are the parts of restoration we love most.

It's not just about making an old house look new. It's about figuring out how to make it work for the next family while preserving the character and craftsmanship that made it special in the first place.

And sometimes, the things we're most proud of are the things you'd never know we did. ❤️

This home was full of family and laughter today, just like it should be. ❤️ My sister and her kids from out of town were visiting and wanted to see the restoration. It made me excited for this home to find it's next family and for new memories to be made here.

Living room transformation 😍

This space was already so well laid out with the window nook, fireplace and existing side shelves/cabinets. So it was easy to revision.

I'm not sure how the moody black shiplap fireplace came into my head but I had to have it. This is where the light floor and dark cabinet color palette came to life that I carried throughout the rest of the home.

Today's before and after is the master bedroom. Hard to believe this is the same room! There was an awkward corner bathroom which we relocated. There was also no closet at all in this room. 🤯

Not anymore! Now there is a much more functional bathroom layout and an attached full walk in closet.. Just like every master should have ❤️🥰

The exterior is the biggest transformation of this project. This home was originally built in approximately 1893 and needed a ton of love to restore it, certainly to restore it the Foster & Co. way.

I didn't want to change the exterior character too much but it definitely needed curb appeal. I'm pretty happy with how the finished product balanced both. 🤍
