Welcome to the Waldspirale in Darmstadt, Germany 🇩🇪 — the “Forest Spiral.” Designed by artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, who famously called straight lines “the devil’s tools” 📐🚫

105 apartments. Over 1,000 windows — and NO TWO are the same shape. Wavy rainbow balconies. Trees growing straight through windows. A whole FOREST planted on the spiraling roof 🌳

The corners inside the apartments are ROUNDED. The floors undulate. Living here must feel like being inside a Dr. Seuss book had a baby with a dream 🌀

Completed in 2000 — it was Hundertwasser’s final masterpiece.

An indoor infinity pool facing a wall of ice. A bedroom where the glacier *is* the wallpaper. A concrete staircase, a stone kitchen, a living room — all wrapped in glass against the ice. This is the wildest “house with a view” I’ve ever seen — an A-frame tucked right into a glacier in Iceland.

💭 The whole place feels like you’re living inside the ice itself. Every room frames that blue glacier like a painting.
