Weather alert ‼️ 🚨

A front moving through Tennessee on Monday will spread scattered thunderstorms into north Georgia during the afternoon and evening. A few of these storms may become strong to severe, with damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph being the primary threat. Storms will also produce frequent lightning and locally heavy rainfall.

SEVERE RISK TODAY: Good morning! Later today, a cold front will move across north Georgia with an increasing risk for rain and storms. The highest chance of a strong or severe storm will be north of I-20.

The main storm threats today will be locally heavy rain and damaging wind gusts but I also can't rule out a brief, spin up tornado -- especially in far NW GA. Stay weather aware this afternoon!

Severe storm threat Thursday-Thursday night for our entire area. Please share to help spread the word.

The remnants of the tropical system currently in the western Gulf will move across Georgia. The storms will have the potential to bring damaging wind gusts 60 mph+. Isolated, brief tornadoes are common with tropical systems and that threat will likely be across the southern half of our area.

Exact location of the tornado threat will depend on the track of this low pressure. I'll be tracking that carefully live on Channel 2.
