Victorian updates!
The plumbing is pretty much complete! We now have hot water in the house for the first time since we started this journey! New sewer lines were dug and installed, the tankless hot water heater installed and remaining fixtures attached!
Upstairs, the bathroom is now fully functional. We took the liberty of putting up a temporary shower curtain, as we may be using this bathroom for showers at first. We will eventually have glass doors on both the I showers, but for now we have them temporary up until we can MacGyver something temporary for the Primary bathroom shower. Vanity is up and running, toilet connected, Nd ceiling painted. Still a lot of work, including doors for the toilet room, window trim, wainscoting, etc, but we can use the space!
Downstairs, the kitchen sink (not pictured) is ready to go, and the powder room’s sink and toilet are now good to go, so yeah on that! Not super noticeable from the picture is we have the trim at the top of the wainscoting in the bathroom cut and stained as well. Still haven’t figured out the color for the room yet, but as you can see from the menagerie of paint samples, it’s not from a lack of trying.
Other updates include more bead board paneling up in the kitchen. We can now prep the old upper cabinets and install them back in. We also have the wainscoting boards cut for the foyer, but those will have to wait until we get the floor redone. We do have the bead board installed and painted under the stairs. We think it looks great! Still a lot to go, but we are super happy with the results so far.
Lots of progress, and we should* now be able to actually STAY in the house we’ve owned for 4 1/2 years! Progress!!!
