TEXAS — Residents across parts of the Lone Star State are reporting a bizarre weather phenomenon Wednesday morning after water apparently began falling directly out of the sky.

Witnesses described the mysterious substance as “cold,” “wet,” and strangely familiar.

“I knew something was wrong when my windshield started cleaning itself,” one Texan reportedly said.

Experts have identified the phenomenon as rain, something once commonly observed throughout Texas before apparently becoming a limited-time seasonal promotion.

The event immediately caused widespread confusion. Texans were spotted standing on porches staring upward, dogs refused to go outside, and thousands of people suddenly remembered they left their windows cracked.

Officials say there is no reason for alarm and encourage Texans to enjoy the mysterious sky water while it lasts.

This is a developing story. We will continue staring out the window.

BOB TALLMAN DIDN'T JUST ANNOUNCE RODEO. HE MADE IT BIGGER. Eight-time World Champion Donnie Gay once told us something interesting about Hall of Fame announcer Bob Tallman.
Bob was one of the people who took rodeo to a much higher level.
Think about that.
There have been plenty of people who could tell you a cowboy's name, his score and where he stood in the standings. Bob could tell you the story behind the cowboy. Where he came from. What he'd been through. What was riding on the next eight seconds.
And why what you were about to see mattered. That's a very different skill.
Bob grew up around ranching and competed himself in calf roping and steer roping before stepping behind a microphone in 1970. Over the next half-century, that microphone took him to nearly 15,000 rodeo performances across the United States and around the world. And somewhere along the way, Bob helped change the atmosphere of professional rodeo.
The contestants were still the stars. But Bob helped us understand why they were stars.
His gravelly voice became part of the soundtrack of the sport. His storytelling helped transform what could have been a succession of rides and runs into something with personalities, history, drama and consequence.
At RODEOHOUSTON alone, he's been its distinctive voice for more than 40 years, beginning performances with that unmistakable “Hello, Houston.”
In 2025, he was selected for the inaugural RODEOHOUSTON Hall of Fame class. Maybe that's what Donnie Gay means when he says Bob Tallman took rodeo to another level. Great cowboys made rodeo great. Bob Tallman helped the rest of us understand just how great they were. And there may be no higher compliment for an announcer than that.
