As the end of the year approaches and the festivities are around the corner ✨ , there is no better time to donate to those in need than during the holiday season.

These organizations in Highland Park are accepting donations, but there are many ways to give back this holiday season:

-Moraine Township Food Pantry: Donations may be dropped off at 800 Central Ave., Monday-Friday 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM.
-Toys for Tots: Drop off your new, unwrapped donations of toys to Fire Station #33, 1130 Central Ave., during business hours (Tuesday - Friday, 7 AM - 4 PM)
-Coats for Kids: Donate new or gently used coats to be given to local families in need. Donations will be accepted until February 1, 2023, at the drop box located in the front lobby of Fire Station #33, 1130 Central Avenue.

As interest rates increase, more homeowners are buying down the interest rates. But what does buying down a rate mean?

A buydown mortgage allows you to buy points upfront in exchange for a lower interest rate.

Buying down your mortgage rate will allow you to secure a lower interest rate -aka lower monthly payments- for either the entire length of the mortgage or a predetermined amount of time.

If the seller is offering to buy down your rate as an incentive, you will benefit with a lower monthly payment, a lower interest rate, and the possibility to refinance when interest rates drop.
