🌿 Explore the Rio Grande Rail Trail! 🚴♀️🌞 ❄️
One of my favorite local paved trails for walking, biking, running, and getting fresh air is the Rio Grande Rail Trail—officially known as the Denver & Rio Grande Western Rail Traill. It’s an easy, mostly flat route that’s perfect for people of all ages and activity levels.
📍 Where it runs:
From near West Bountiful up north through cities like Farmington, Layton, Clearfield, and Clinton — all the way toward Roy/West Haven just south of Ogden. The whole trail is about 23–24 miles long and paved, so it’s great for bikes, strollers, and easy walks.
🌟 Why locals love it:
• Smooth paved surface — perfect for bikes, rollerblades, and long walks
• Family & dog-friendly 🚶♂️🐕
• Part of the larger Golden Spoke trail network with connections that stretch across the valley
• Great way to get outside without heading up the canyon 🚴♂️🌼 ❄️
☀️ Tips:
Bring water in the summer (it’s mostly open with little shade). It’s open year round but can get a little icy after a cold winter night.
