Some traditions are meant to repeat. 🌺

Year after year, Hilo gathers at Liliʻuokalani Gardens—in music, hula, remembrance and aloha—to honor Queen Liliʻuokalani.

Last September 5, marked the 27th He Haliʻa Aloha No Liliʻuokalani Festival, including one of its most memorable traditions: hundreds of dancers moving together in a mass hula as blossoms filled the air above the gardens.

The scenes may feel familiar from year to year. But perhaps that's what makes them special.

Tradition lives because people keep showing up to carry it forward.
