An afternoon in Boston is just a quick ferry trip away. ⛴️

From the South Shore you can be walking the waterfront without ever getting on the expressway, which is most of the appeal. The ferry runs seven days a week through Columbus Day weekend, so there is still time to make an easy weekday trip out of it before the schedule changes.

Here’s how to make it:

🍓 2 oz vodka
🍊 1 oz triple sec
🍋 ½ oz fresh lime juice
🍓 ¾ oz strawberry syrup
🫚 ½ oz ginger b**r

Strain into your glass over fresh ice, top with ginger b**r, and finish with a lime wheel.

In Hingham, two parks handle the same question in opposite ways, and one of them changes its mind depending on the date. 🐕

Bare Cove Park covers 484 acres along the Weymouth Back River, and off-leash access is allowed on odd-numbered days only, with a permit. That permit requires a Town Clerk appointment with a license or rabies proof plus a photo. Dogs have to stay within 40 feet and under voice control, and the fine is $50 per dog, per violation. Special events can suspend off-leash days with a week's notice.

A few minutes away at World's End, the rule never changes. Leashed dogs are welcome on the carriage paths every single day, with no odd-day exception and no off-leash window. Guided walks and ticketed events do not allow dogs at all.
