Reflecting on the 2025 housing market, the national headlines often told a story of cooling activity and shifting conditions. Yet here in Chicagoland and across Harbor Country, Michigan our markets continued to outperform many expectations. Limited inventory, strong buyer demand, and a steady pace of sales kept our local markets firmly in seller-friendly territory. Homes that were well-priced and well-presented saw excellent results throughout the year.⁠
⁠
As we move into 2026, I anticipate more of the same steady performance. If mortgage rates continue to ease, even modestly, it may encourage more homeowners to list their properties, gradually increasing inventory. This shift should create additional opportunities for buyers while maintaining healthy conditions for sellers.⁠
