The Lord works in very mysterious ways, in the hearts and minds of those who choose to follow His commands. And He alone decides to whom the special gifts are imparted, giving the more precious gifts to those who the world might consider least likely. And when one comes to that realization that they have been given a gift not available to everyone, they must guard it wisely while allowing the power of His Spirit to bring about a result that can only be attributed to the Lord Himself. And there is certainly no time to take credit for something that is from above, and over which we have no control, for it truly is a gift from on high, meant only to bring glory and honor to Him. And the only thing that one must remember, is to use these God-given gifts wisely, for He does watch closely, the genuineness of the receiver’s heart.

The Word says that “I must not lean on my own understanding” yet I continually find myself speaking with my mouth, rather than waiting upon the Lord to give the appropriate response. And every time I do, I find myself in a spiritual battle that can only be won by my putting aside my pride and asking the Lord for His forgiveness. The wonderful thing is that through this confession of my weakness I can again feel the presence, and the anointing that only comes when one submits themselves to the authority of the Lord Himself. My one and only desire is that I take a little more time before uttering words that I may later regret. But the Lord is merciful and kind to those who surrender themselves to His authority rather than to the desires of one’s flesh, and is ready to bring about the changes that need to take place within me so that I truly am, one with Him.
